Dunstable's first town hall, which burned down in 1879. It was originally the town's Market House, built in 1805. It became the town hall in 1866, with the clock tower added in 1869. After the fire it was rebuilt the following year, utilising what remained of the original frontage. The Crown Inn next door was originally called The Crow, with its new name in use in the 1870s.
