Chew's School

Chew's School painted by Thomas Fisher. The artist produced a large number of pictures of Bedfordshire scenes between 1812 and 1822, many of which were collected by Sir Gregory Osborne Page Turner of Battlesden Park. The clock tower and the clock remain today and there are still two figures of scholars over the entrance, although the present figures were copied from photographs after the originals were stolen.
