Biplane in flight

Photographer Chas Smy recorded the details you see here of the aeroplane which he photographed landing at Dunstable on September 29, 1913. This would have been in fields off Poynters Road, in the direction of what is now the Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

The plane was being flown by F.P.Raynham who was flying from Brooklands to Leeds to race a Blackburn Mononplane on October 2.
